• El XII International Challenge in Business Simulations reunió a 15.000 estudiantes de 800 universidades del mundo.
• Los estudiantes colombianos recibieron certificado de excelencia en gestión empresarial de Company Game por su participación en la categoría finanzas.
María José Herreño Guisao, Sofía Roldán Hernández y Jair Trujillo Rincón, estudiantes del pregrado en Administración Financiera del TdeA Institución Universitaria, se ubicaron en el Top 10, categoría Finanzas, del XII International Challenge in Business Simulations, organizado por Company Game.
El desafío para los tres estudiantes comenzó en marzo pasado cuando fueron convocados por la profesora de Finanzas Corporativas, Karen Rivas. A pesar de no haber trabajado juntos previamente, se unieron para formar un equipo que se destacó en cada etapa del desafío. La primera fase consistió en desarrollar una estrategia de marketing para impulsar el crecimiento y posicionamiento en una empresa de base tecnológica.
"En la fase inicial de marketing obtuvimos un rendimiento excepcional pues superamos en 400 puntos los requisitos para avanzar a la siguiente etapa. Un ejemplo de nuestro éxito fue la habilidad para transformar datos básicos en una estrategia que aumentara significativamente el valor de la compañía", detalla Jair Trujillo, quien desea especializarse en la analítica financiera e inteligencia artificial.
En la segunda fase, compitieron con 119 equipos en la categoría de Finanzas. El del TdeA fue el único equipo de Colombia en alcanzar el top diez, ocupando el noveno lugar con un total de 2.887 puntos. “Esta calificación, es muy alta para su primera participación, refleja su capacidad para tomar decisiones financieras utilizando herramientas analíticas, sus habilidades de gestión para trabajar en equipo y su amplia visión sobre las posibilidades profesionales, más allá de la competencia misma”, destacó el profesor de la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas, Mauricio Bedoya.
“Competir nos amplió las expectativas de nuestro futuro laboral. Yo sueño con trabajar en la Bolsa de Valores de Nueva York o desarrollar un emprendimiento tecnológico. Foguearme con otros estudiantes y medir nuestro nivel de conocimiento nos permite potenciar lo que queremos ser como profesionales”, dice Sofía Roldán.
Para María José Herreño el reto sirvió para dar una mirada a lo que les espera en el mundo laboral. Por ahora expresa que desea estudiar un poco más y especializarse como bróker.
Participar en la simulación de Company Game permite a los estudiantes adquirir habilidades en la toma de decisiones, análisis de datos, gestión financiera, planeación y pensamiento estratégico, trabajo en equipo y negociación.
Los estudiantes del TdeA recibieron el respectivo certificado de excelencia de CompanyGame por su destacada participación en este reto, que según la misma empresa: “constituye una excepcional oportunidad de formación y desarrollo en el ámbito de la gestión empresarial y la administración de los negocios”.
TdeA Students: Top 10 in International Business Simulation Challenge

María José Herreño Guisao, Sofía Roldán Hernández, and Jair Trujillo Rincón, undergraduate students in Financial Administration at TdeA University Institution, were placed in the Top 10, Finance category, of the XII International Challenge in Business Simulations, organized by Company Game.
The challenge for the three students began last March when they were invited by Corporate Finance professor Karen Rivas. Despite not having previously worked together, they came together to form a team that excelled at every stage of the challenge. The first phase consisted of developing a marketing strategy to boost growth and positioning in a technology-based company.
"In the initial marketing phase, we performed exceptionally well, exceeding the requirements to advance to the next stage by 400 points. An example of our success was the ability to transform basic data into a strategy that would significantly increase the value of the company," says Jair Trujillo, who wants to specialize in financial analytics and artificial intelligence.
In the second phase, they competed with 119 teams in the Finance category. The TdeA team was the only team from Colombia to reach the top ten, occupying ninth place with a total of 2,887 points. "This rating, which is very high for his first participation, reflects his ability to make financial decisions using analytical tools, his management skills to work in a team and his broad vision of professional possibilities, beyond the competition itself," said Mauricio Bedoya, professor at the School of Administrative and Economic Sciences.
"Competing broadened our expectations for our future career. I dream of working at the New York Stock Exchange or developing a tech startup. Training with other students and measuring our level of knowledge allows us to enhance what we want to be as professionals," says Sofía Roldán.
For María José Herreño, the challenge served to give them a glimpse of what awaits them in the world of work. For now, she expresses that she wants to study a little more and specialize as a broker.
Participating in the Company Game simulation allows students to gain skills in decision-making, data analysis, financial management, strategic planning and thinking, teamwork, and negotiation.
The TdeA students received the respective certificate of excellence from CompanyGame for their outstanding participation in this challenge, which according to the company itself: "constitutes an exceptional opportunity for training and development in the field of business management and business administration."
