“La dignidad de los hechos se evidencia en logros”: ministra de Educación Nacional
En la Institución Universitaria Tecnológico de Antioquia se llevó a cabo el Encuentro nacional de rectores REDTTU, en el cual se presentaron los resultados de la educación superior desde las instituciones técnicas, tecnológicas y universitarias públicas durante el período 2018-2022.
La Red la integran 30 instituciones de educación superior públicas, las cuales evidenciaron los logros e hicieron un reconocimiento al Ministerio de Educación, representado por María Victoria Angulo González, a quien se le otorgó la Orden Red TTU en la categoría al mérito educativo.
El rector del TdeA, Leonardo García Botero, vicepresidente de la REDTTU, destacó la importancia del encuentro al indicar que el diálogo, la participación, la reflexión y la disertación se constituyen en el escenario natural de la vida académica para seguir construyendo los sueños de los estudiantes.
Así mismo, expresó: “seguimos aportando desde la educación superior a la transformación social y al desarrollo que requiere nuestra nación, Hay un objetivo por el que vale la pena luchar y establecer políticas para preservar una educación pública de calidad para todos”. El directivo resaltó el apoyo de entidades como el Ministerio de Educación Nacional para el fortalecimiento de las instituciones y del sistema de educación superior colombiano, con logros en materia de calidad, acceso y permanencia.
Por su parte, Gustavo Rubio Lozano, en representación del Consejo Directivo de rectores y presidente de la REDTTU, reconoció el balance de gestión del Ministerio de Educación en los últimos años en las instituciones de educación técnica profesional, tecnológica y universitaria. “El más importante logro de este gobierno fue incorporar en el lenguaje de los colombianos el concepto de instituciones educación superior, hablar de un sistema ya no solo universitario, sino, también, incluyente, quizás este es el más relevante logro de equidad”, dijo.
María Victoria Angulo González, ministra de Educación Nacional, en su intervención, indicó que la dignidad de los hechos se evidencia en los logros del sector. En cuanto a los recursos, la inversión para todo el sistema de la educación superior pública fue de 4,6 billones, cifra comparable a lo que se le había dado en 12 años; 720 mil estudiantes accedieron a gratuidad por semestre en 64 instituciones y, por primera vez, se le reconoció a la educación técnica y tecnológica recursos para proyectos de inversión y asignación de regalías para infraestructura.
Igualmente, anunció la ministra: “somos el primer sector de la Función Pública, con el primer lugar en el Índice de Desempeño, fruto del trabajo y del rigor en la gestión. Es importante seguir sumando esfuerzos; la tecnología nos va permitir llegar a muchos rincones y contar por lo menos con un 70% de conectividad; tenemos la gratuidad, la matricula cero, el programa Generación E, procurando que los padres de familia y los estudiantes dejen de angustiarse y puedan concentrarse en temas de calidad y permanencia, siendo uno de los países de América Latina con menor deserción”.
La REDTTU tiene el propósito de fortalecer la colaboración entre instituciones de educación superior técnicas, tecnológicas y universitarias públicas, con el fin de promover aspectos de docencia, investigación, proyección social, calidad, gestión e internacionalización.

"The dignity of the facts is evidenced in achievements": Minister of National Education
At the University Institution Tecnológico de Antioquia was held National University President’s Summit REDTTU 2022, in which the results of higher education from public technical, technological and university institutions during 2018-2022 were presented.
The Network is made up of 30 public higher education institutions, which evidenced the achievements and recognized the Ministry of Education, represented by María Victoria Angulo González, who was awarded the “Orden Red TTU” in the category of educational merit.
The president of the TdeA, Leonardo García Botero, vice president of REDTTU, highlighted the importance of the meeting by indicating that dialogue, participation, reflection and dissertation constitute the natural scenario of academic life to continue building the dreams of students.
Likewise, he said: "we continue to contribute from higher education to the social transformation and development that our Nation requires, there is an objective for which it is worth fighting and establishing policies to preserve a quality public education for all." The executive highlighted the support of entities such as the Ministry of National Education for the strengthening of institutions and the Colombian higher education system, with achievements in terms of quality, access and permanence.
For his part, Gustavo Rubio Lozano, representing the Board of Directors of university presidents and president of REDTTU, recognized the management balance of the Ministry of Education in recent years in the institutions of professional, technological and university technical education. "The most important achievement of this government was to incorporate in the language of Colombians the concept of higher education institutions, to speak of a system that is not only university, but also inclusive, perhaps, this is the most relevant achievement of equity," he said.
María Victoria Angulo González, Minister of National Education, in her speech, indicated that the dignity of the facts is evident in the achievements of the sector. In terms of resources, the investment for the entire public higher education system was COP4.6 billion, a figure comparable to what had been invested in 12 years; 720,000 students had free access per semester in 64 institutions and, for the first time, technical and technological education was recognized as resources for investment projects and allocation of royalties for infrastructure.
Likewise, she announced: "we are the first sector of the Public Function, with the first place in the Performance Index, the result of work and rigor in management. It is important to continue to join efforts; technology will allow us to reach many corners and have at least 70% connectivity; we have free, zero enrollment, the “Generación E,” ensuring that parents and students stop worrying and can concentrate on issues of quality and permanence, being one of the countries in Latin America with the lowest dropout".
The purpose of REDTTU is to strengthen collaboration between technical, technological and public university higher education institutions, in order to promote aspects of teaching, research, social projection, quality, management and internationalization.
