Para Vanesa Marín Marín, tecnóloga en Sistemas del TdeA, su cuerpo es una especie de lienzo que ha convertido en arte. Ya no recuerda con exactitud el número de tatuajes y piercing que lleva plasmados a su piel.
El traje de gala que usó para recibir su diploma ocultaron parcialmente la esencia diversa de esta mujer: su cabello azul marino, su nariz y cejas perforadas y sus tatuajes que sobresalen en sus hombros y garganta.
"Tengo una conexión muy profunda con el océano y las especies marinas por eso el color de mi pelo. Y de los tatuajes el que más me gusta es del cuello porque refleja la fuerza y el fuego que llevo en mi interior", destacó la recién egresada del TdeA en Tecnología de Sistemas.
Debajo de la toga y el birrete, que por protocolo le tocó usar para la ceremonia, estaba la verdadera Vanessa con su chaqueta, pantalón y botas negras y otros accesorios que caracterizan su rebeldía y personalidad.
"Estudiar en el TdeA es lo mejor que me ha sucedido en la vida. Me encanta la manera como trabajan el tema de inclusión, acá no hay discriminación y te puedes expresar como quieras. Esta institución es una 'chimba'. Acá me han acogido como en mi casa", comentó emocionada.
Después de la tecnología, esta joven espera profesionalizarse y alcanzar una especialización en ciberseguridad, ojalá, anota ella, en el TdeA. "A los ciberdelincuentes se les combate con tecnología y estrategias digitales y yo las quiero crear", expresó con vehemencia Vanessa.
"Este título es para mi abuela en el cielo"
Desde niño Gerson Quejada Meléndez se ha interesado por el medio ambiente. Con mucho esfuerzo, como dice él, salió de su pueblo natal, Vigía del Fuerte, para hacer realidad sus sueños en Medellín. Hoy logró uno de ellos, su grado como ingeniero Ambiental.
"Me hubiese gustado que mi abuela estuviera acá, hace once días se nos fue. Aunque estoy con mi mamá y mi hija le dedico este título a mi abuela porque siempre me apoyó. Me tocó trabajar fuerte para sobrevivir acá y a la vez estudiaba. Ella siempre me animó a seguir adelante", expresó Gerson ligeramente conmovido.
En su natal Vigía del Fuerte, junto a algunos amigos del pueblo, dedicaba tardes a analizar estrategias efectivas para controlar el impacto de la contaminación sobre el río Atrato. A Gerson le preocupa que en su municipio aún el basurero sea a cielo abierto y a orillas del afluente.
"Tenemos la responsabilidad de trabajar mancomunadamente por la preservación de los ecosistemas. Como sociedad tenemos que garantizarle un ambiente sano a las generaciones futuras. Quiero regresar a Vigía del Fuerte para velar por la adecuada protección de nuestro río", recalcó este nuevo ingeniero Ambiental del TdeA.
En la ceremonia de grados de Facultad de Ingeniería se entregaron 211diplomas correspondientes a la Maestría en Gestión del Riesgo y Medio Ambiente, ingenierías Ambiental y del Software, tecnologías en Sistemas, Gestión Informática, Diseño y Desarrollo Web y Gestión Ambiental y técnico profesional en Sistemas.

For Vanesa Marín Marín, a Systems Technologist at TdeA, her body is a kind of canvas that she has turned into art. She no longer remembers exactly how many tattoos and piercings has attached to her skin.
The ball gown she wore to receive her diploma partially hid this woman's diverse essence: her navy blue hair, her pierced nose and eyebrows, and her tattoos that protrude from her shoulders and throat.
"I have a very deep connection to the ocean and marine species, that's why the color of my hair. And of the tattoos, the one I like the most is the neck because it reflects the strength and fire that I carry inside me," said the recent graduate of TdeA in Systems Technology.
Underneath the cap and gown, which by protocol she had to wear for the ceremony, was the real Vanessa with her jacket, pants and black boots and other accessories that characterize her rebellion and personality.
"Studying at the TdeA is the best thing that has happened to me in my life. I love the way they work on the issue of inclusion, here there is no discrimination, and you can express yourself however you want. This institution is a 'chimba' (explicit language for cool). Here they have welcomed me as if they were at home," she said excitedly.
After technology, this young woman hopes to become a professional and achieve a specialization in cybersecurity, hopefully, she notes, at TdeA. "Cybercriminals are fought with technology and digital strategies and I want to create them," Vanessa said vehemently.
"This Degree is for my Grandmother in Heaven"
Since he was a child, Gerson Quejada Meléndez has been interested in the environment. With a lot of effort, as he says, he left his hometown, Vigía del Fuerte, to make his dreams come true in Medellín. Today he achieved one of them, his degree as an Environmental Engineer.
"I would have liked my grandmother to be here, eleven days ago she left us. Although I am with my mom and my daughter, I dedicate this degree to my grandmother because she always supported me. I had to work hard to survive here and at the same time I studied. She always encouraged me to keep going," Gerson said, slightly moved.
In his native Vigía del Fuerte, together with some friends from the town, he spent afternoons analyzing effective strategies to control the impact of pollution on the Atrato River. Gerson is concerned that in his municipality the garbage dump is still in the open and on the banks of the tributary.
"We have a responsibility to work together for the preservation of ecosystems. As a society, we have to guarantee a healthy environment for future generations. I want to return to Vigía del Fuerte to ensure the adequate protection of our river," said this new Environmental Engineer of the TdeA.
At the graduation ceremony of the School of Engineering, 211 diplomas were awarded corresponding to the Master's Degree in Risk Management and Environment, Environmental and Software Engineering, System Technologies, Computer Management, Web Design and Development and Environmental Management and Professional Technician in Systems.
