Hasta el viernes 10 de marzo, la Institución Universitaria conmemorará el Día Internacional de los Derechos de las Mujeres con programación que integra a la comunidad educativa en torno a la prevención, detección y atención de violencias.
Con el llamado de los tambores de Kipará, un grupo musical del barrio Manrique integrado en su mayoría por jóvenes mujeres, inició la campaña “TdeA sin violencias basadas en género, súmate al reto”. La iniciativa hace parte de una serie de actividades programadas con motivo de la conmemoración del Día Internacional de los Derechos de las Mujeres.
Durante el acto de apertura, en el Auditorio Institucional, el rector de la Institución Universitaria Tecnológico de Antioquia, Leonardo García Botero, rindió homenaje a las mujeres que cumplen diferentes roles en la vida institucional. Invitó a sumarse al reto de prevención, detección y atención a las violencias basadas en género; así como al desarrollo conjunto de políticas de diversidad e inclusión que se han construido de manera participativa.
En el mismo espacio, el rector destacó el papel de la mujer en la dinámica de la entidad. “El Tecnológico de Antioquia es una Institución con 40 años de vida, ahora el 14 de marzo cumplimos cuatro décadas de actividades académicas. Ustedes saben que nuestra población estudiantil, en su mayoría, son mujeres por la raíz que tenemos del CEFA. Hoy, también tenemos un alto porcentaje de estudiantes, docentes y empleadas en cargos administrativos y directivos de la organización ocupados por mujeres, lo que nos hace sentir muy orgullosos”, recalcó.
Ante un auditorio colmado, diverso e incluyente, García Botero invitó a toda la comunidad del TdeA para que se apropie de las políticas de interculturalidad y defensa de los derechos humanos, así como de los protocolos y rutas definidas para atender dentro de la Institución probables casos de violencias basadas en género.
Para sumarse al reto
El canto y resonar de los tambores llevaron consigo un mensaje que generó sensibilidad entre muchos de los asistentes al acto de apertura de esta campaña pluricultural.
“Para mi ese espacio con los instrumentos de percusión me permitió una reflexión profunda, que nuestras palabras retumben y resuenen como el tambor”, fue la conclusión de la empleada Inés Hernández.
El sonoro, rítmico y persistente mensaje surgido desde el toque de los tambores también atrajo la atención de muchos de los hombres que integran la comunidad de la Institución.
“Excelente la campaña. El evento es una apuesta importante y me sumo al reto. Es importante que tengamos una institución que sea incluyente. Y en especial cuando es de alta calidad tiene que abrir las puertas a la diversidad e inclusión. Como empleado celebro esta iniciativa y me comprometo con el reto”, expresó Daniel Saldarriaga, técnico operativo de Autoevaluación Institucional.
Una feria diversa e incluyente
La conmemoración del Día Internacional de los Derechos de las Mujeres en el TdeA irá hasta este viernes 10 de marzo con una programación que contempla actividades académicas, lúdicas, culturales, pedagógicas y de promoción y prevención de la salud.
Igualmente, se cuenta con una feria de servicios institucionales con orientación profesional en diversos temas que propenden por la adecuada salud física y mental de las mujeres de la institución.
Por ejemplo, en uno de los cubículos dispuestos en las afueras de la biblioteca se habla abiertamente de la menstruación, un tema que en muchos espacios de la sociedad aún se sigue tratando como un tabú.
“Es importante menstruar sin agachar la cabeza. Es un tema que hay que hablarlo abiertamente, tenemos que mostrar la sangre del color que es, roja. Antes la pintaban azul. Acá les indicamos que el olor de la menstruación no es malo, que no está mal que pase en la calle, es un tema de aceptación e identidad absoluta”, explica Yurany David López, estudiante del programa de Psicología.
Entre tanto, Alejandra Mora, egresada, se siente identificada con la esencia de la campaña y las jornadas de sensibilización. “Es importante que se den estos espacios donde nos representan a nosotras como exalumnas, como profesoras, trabajadoras o estudiantes. Esto me hace muy feliz”, dice.
A la estudiante Luisa Fernanda Vera, el acto de apertura le pareció sencillamente increíble. Comenta que esa música la transportó a dimensiones sonoras y espacios de múltiples alternativas de convivencia y armonía. “Es fundamental que todos estemos en esta juntanza. Qué bueno fue ver a los hombres en el video porque casi siempre somos las mujeres las que alzamos la voz. Es chévere que ellos asuman que a veces la han embarrado, pero que juntos entre ellos y nosotras podemos construir grandes proyectos”, concluyó.
Con este tipo de iniciativas, el TdeA busca consolidar, entre sus públicos, la socialización de dos de sus políticas institucionales: una que está orientada a la inclusión e interculturalidad; y la otra, a la defensa de los derechos humanos y diversidad de género.

TdeA without Gender-based Violence
Until Friday, March 10, the University Institution will commemorate the International Day of Women's Rights with programming that integrates the educational community around the prevention, detection and attention of the different forms of violence.
With the call of the drums of Kipará, a group from the Manrique neighborhood composed mostly of young women, started the campaign "TdeA without gender-based violence, join the challenge." The initiative is part of a series of activities scheduled to commemorate International Women's Rights Day.
During the opening ceremony, in the Institutional Auditorium, president of the Tecnológico de Antioquia, University Institution, Leonardo García Botero, paid tribute to women who play different roles in institutional life. He invited to join the challenge of prevention, detection and attention to gender-based violence; as well as the joint development of diversity and inclusion policies that have been built in a participatory manner.
In the same space, the President highlighted the role of women in the dynamics of the entity. "The Tecnológico de Antioquia is an institution with 40 years of life, now on March 14 we celebrate four decades of academic activities. You know that our student population, for the most part, are women because of the root we have from CEFA (former started institutional name). Today, we also have a high percentage of students, teachers and employees in administrative and managerial positions of the organization occupied by women, which makes us feel very proud," she said.
Before a full, diverse and inclusive auditorium, García Botero invited the entire TdeA community to appropriate the policies of interculturality and defense of human rights, as well as the protocols and routes defined to address probable cases of gender-based violence within the Institution.
Joining the challenge
The singing and resounding of the drums carried with them a message that generated sensitivity among many of those attending the opening ceremony of this multicultural campaign. "For me that space with the percussion instruments allowed me a deep reflection, that our words resound and resonate like the drum," was the conclusion of the employee Inés Hernández.
The sonorous, rhythmic and persistent message that emerged from the beating of the drums also attracted the attention of many of the men who make up the community of the Institution.
"Excellent campaign. The event is an important bet and I join the challenge. It is important that we have an institution that is inclusive. And especially when it is of high quality it has to open the doors to diversity and inclusion. As an employee I welcome this initiative and commit to the challenge," said Daniel Saldarriaga, operational technician of Institutional Self-Assessment.
A diverse and inclusive fair
The commemoration of the International Day of Women's Rights in the TdeA will go until Friday, March 10 with a program that includes academic, recreational, cultural, pedagogical and health promotion and prevention activities.
There is also a fair of institutional services with professional guidance on various topics that promote the adequate physical and mental health of women in the institution.
For example, in one of the cubicles arranged outside the library, menstruation is openly discussed, a subject that in many spaces of society is still treated as a taboo.
"It's important to menstruate without hiding your head. It is a subject that must be discussed openly, we have to show the blood in its real color that is: red. Before they painted it blue. Here we indicate that the smell of menstruation is not bad, that it is not bad it happens on the street, it is a matter of acceptance and absolute identity, "explains Yurany David López, student of the Psychology program.
Meanwhile, Alejandra Mora, a graduate, feels identified with the essence of the campaign and the awareness days. "It is important that these spaces are provided where they represent us as alumni, as teachers, workers or students. This makes me very happy," he says.
To the student Luisa Fernanda Vera, the opening act seemed simply incredible. She says that this music transported her to sound dimensions and spaces of multiple alternatives of coexistence and harmony. "It is essential that we are all in this gathering. How good it was to see the men in the video because it's almost always women who speak out. It's cool that they assume that sometimes they have muddied it, but that together between them and us we can build great projects," she concluded.
With this type of initiative, the TdeA seeks to consolidate, among its audiences, the socialization of two of its institutional policies: one that is oriented to inclusion and interculturality; and the other, to the defense of human rights and gender diversity.
