Un excelente balance dejó la visita y evaluación de la Dirección Nacional de Justicia Formal del Ministerio de Justicia y del Derecho al Consultorio Jurídico y Centro de Conciliación del TdeA “Sofía Medina de López”.
En el marco del día del abogado que se conmemora, 22 de junio en Colombia, el rector del TdeA Institución Universitaria, Leonardo García Botero, reconoció la gestión de los profesionales del Derecho y los avances del programa; a la vez, informó acerca de la positiva gestión e impacto del Consultorio Jurídico y Centro de Conciliación de la Institución Universitaria
Recientemente, funcionarios del Ministerio de Justicia y del Derecho realizaron una jornada de auditoría, control y vigilancia, encuentro que comenzó con la presentación del programa de Derecho, de su malla curricular, del mapa de competencias, del resultado de aprendizaje y de los cursos de la dependencia a evaluar.
Al respecto, la decana de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses (FDCF) del TdeA, Luz Elena Mira Olano, destacó los distintos reconocimientos que se han recibido desde la creación del pregrado en el año 2017. Mencionando en su intervención, de manera especial, la distinción recibida en el XV Encuentro Nacional de Facultades de Derecho de Acofade, donde se reconoció a la FDCF como la más innovadora de Colombia para el año 2022. En aquella oportunidad, se resaltó su propuesta curricular y procesos de proyección social, en temas como inclusión, pluridiversidad e impacto regional, donde encabeza la lista estrategias como la revisada en esta inspección.
Cabe destacar que, desde la apertura del consultorio y centro de conciliación, esta iniciativa ha sido un espacio de gran aporte de inclusión social, de atención diferencial y de protocolos y prestación de servicio interdisciplinario, ya que se cuenta con abogados, trabajadores sociales, psicólogos, investigadores judiciales y criminalistas. De forma gratuita, prestan servicios a las comunidades tanto de Medellín como del departamento, desplazándose a diferentes municipios del territorio antioqueño, especialmente en las subregiones del Oriente, Occidente, Suroeste, Norte, Nordeste y Magdalena Medio.
Atienden casos en diversas áreas del Derecho como laboral, familiar, penal y privado; ofrecen servicios de asesoría jurídica, conciliación extrajudicial, representación judicial y extrajudicial, entre otros. Además, se destaca la realización de acciones de tutela y derechos de petición, así como la regulación de cuotas alimentarias y asuntos de propiedad.
Desde estos espacios se aporta a la prevención de violencias basadas en género, participando activamente en el acompañamiento y la construcción de las diversas políticas en lo que corresponde a las rutas de activación de escenarios para prevenir y detectar posibles episodios de vulneración. Asimismo, se promueven iniciativas y campañas que propenden por fortalecimiento de este mensaje de respeto, identificación y tolerancia entre la comunidad académica.
Por su intenso trabajo, en agosto de 2024, el TdeA recibió a la Red de Consultorios Jurídicos y Centros de Conciliación, Nodo Antioquia, que congrega a 23 de estos espacios universitarios de igual número de facultades de Derecho de todo el departamento.
Además de la presentación de estos hitos, los funcionarios auditores conocieron a fondo el Consultorio: estructura, acuerdos o convenios celebrados para la práctica; formatos de atención, caracterización usuarios, asignación y control de casos, entre otros asuntos que develan su funcionamiento.
Esta exposición, estuvo a cargo de Jhon Robert Espinosa Herrera, director del Consultorio Jurídico y Centro de Conciliación del TdeA, quien destacó la trayectoria, el volumen de usuarios beneficiados, el crecimiento exponencial de representación de terceros, entre otros aspectos relevantes.
En 2021, se registraron 681 usuarios atendidos; en 2022, las atenciones aumentaron a 1.080; en 2023, sumaron 1.527; en 2024, se beneficiaron 1.972 personas; y en lo corrido de 2025 (con corte al 19 de junio), los servicios han llegado a 1.157 usuarios. Esto suma un total de 6.417 atenciones. Desde 2021 hasta la fecha se han realizado 752 audiencias de conciliación; y entre 2023 y 2024, se llevaron a cabo 63 audiencias de mediación.
El director destacó el Reconocimiento por la Prestación de servicios inclusivos a mujeres y personas con orientación sexual e identidad de género diversa; y el Reconocimiento por la Prestación de servicios inclusivos a personas en condición de discapacidad, ambos otorgados por el Ministerio de Justicia y del Derecho.
En otro momento de este encuentro, los revisores tuvieron dos espacios de entrevistas para conocer el manejo de la atención que se presta al interior del Consultorio Jurídico, tanto desde la perspectiva del estudiante en práctica del programa de Derecho como desde el acompañamiento de los asesores.
Finalmente, se realizó un recorrido por las instalaciones en el bloque 3, evidenciando las condiciones para la prestación del servicio de asesoría jurídica para el público en general como para el desarrollo de las audiencias que se realizan en el Centro de Conciliación.
Una vez finalizada la auditoria y acorde con la respectiva acta, anunció el rector del TdeA, Leonardo García Botero: “después de revisar 32 ítems, se logró un resultado favorable, sin plan de mejora. Con este aval, el Consultorio Jurídico y Centro de Conciliación seguirá prestación su servicio de atención de asesoría jurídica gratuita para el público en general, bajo los criterios de inclusión y alto impacto social. Al respecto, reconoció el trabajo que ha cumplido la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses, las directivas, los docentes, estudiantes y los egresados quienes proyectan la profesión desde principios éticos, responsabilidad y compromiso social.
Good rating for the Legal Clinic and Mediation Center
An excellent balance was left by the visit and evaluation of the National Directorate of Formal Justice of the Ministry of Justice and Law to the Legal Clinic and Conciliation Center of TdeA "Sofía Medina de López."
On the occasion of Lawyer's Day, celebrated on June 22 in Colombia, the president of TdeA University Institution, Leonardo García Botero, recognized the work of legal professionals and the progress of the program; at the same time, he informed about the positive management and impact of the Legal Clinic and Mediation Center of the University Institution.
Recently, officials from the Ministry of Justice and Law conducted an audit, control, and surveillance session, which began with the presentation of the Law program, its curriculum, the competency map, the learning outcomes, and the courses of the department to be evaluated.
In this regard, the dean of the School of Law and Forensic Sciences (FDCF) of TdeA, Luz Elena Mira Olano, highlighted the various recognitions received since the undergraduate program was created in 2017. Mentioning in her speech, in particular, the distinction received at the XV National Meeting of Law Schools of Acofade, where the FDCF was recognized as the most innovative in Colombia for the year 2022. On that occasion, their curricular proposal and social outreach processes were highlighted, in areas such as inclusion, pluridiversity, and regional impact, where strategies like the one reviewed in this inspection top the list.
It is worth noting that, since the opening of the office and mediation center, this initiative has been a significant space for social inclusion, differential care, and the implementation of protocols and interdisciplinary service provision, as it includes lawyers, social workers, psychologists, judicial investigators, and criminalists. Free of charge, they provide services to communities both in Medellín and the department, traveling to different municipalities within the Antioquian territory, especially in the subregions of the East, West, Southwest, North, Northeast, and Middle Magdalena.
They handle cases in various areas of law such as labor, family, criminal, and private; they offer legal advisory services, extrajudicial conciliation, judicial and extrajudicial representation, among others. Additionally, they stand out for carrying out actions of guardianship and petitions, as well as the regulation of alimony and property matters.
From these spaces, contributions are made to the prevention of gender-based violence, actively participating in the support and construction of various policies regarding the activation routes of scenarios to prevent and detect possible episodes of violation. Likewise, initiatives and campaigns are promoted that aim to strengthen this message of respect, identification, and tolerance within the academic community.
Due to its intense work, in August 2024, the TdeA welcomed the Network of Legal Clinics and Mediation Centers, Antioquia Node, which brings together 23 of these university spaces from the same number of law faculties across the entire department.
In addition to the presentation of these milestones, the auditing officials thoroughly examined the Clinic: its structure, agreements or conventions made for practice; care formats, user characterization, case assignment and control, among other matters that reveal its functioning.
This presentation was given by Jhon Robert Espinosa Herrera, director of the Legal Clinic and Mediation Center of TdeA, who highlighted the trajectory, the volume of users benefited, the exponential growth of third-party representation, among other relevant aspects.

The director highlighted the Recognition for the Provision of Inclusive Services to Women and People with Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity; and the Recognition for the Provision of Inclusive Services to People with Disabilities, both awarded by the Ministry of Justice and Law.
At another point in this meeting, the reviewers had two interview sessions to understand the management of care provided within the Legal Clinic, both from the perspective of the law program intern and from the support of the advisors.
Finally, a tour of the facilities in Buiding 3 was conducted, highlighting the conditions for providing legal advisory services to the general public as well as for the development of hearings held at the Conciliation Center.
Once the audit was completed and in accordance with the respective report, the president of TdeA, Leonardo García Botero, announced: "after reviewing 32 items, a favorable result was achieved, without a plan for improvement." With this endorsement, the Legal Clinic and Mediation Center will continue to provide its free legal advisory service to the general public, under the criteria of inclusion and high social impact. In this regard, he acknowledged the work carried out by the Faculty of Law and Forensic Sciences, the administration, the faculty, students, and graduates who project the profession based on ethical principles, responsibility, and social commitment.
