El Tecnológico de Antioquia realiza el Segundo Congreso Internacional de Estudios Sociales. Educación, Equidad e Inteligencia Artificial, organizado por las Facultades de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, y Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas, además de la Revista Senderos Pedagógicos del TdeA.
Este encuentro académico internacional cuenta con varios ponentes de universidades de América Latina y foros para la discusión de un tema que es fundamental hoy en día en el mundo educativo y de los negocios, como es la Inteligencia Artificial (IA). Los estudiantes del Doctorado en Educación y Estudios Sociales son los encargados de este evento para la difusión del conocimiento a través de una temática innovadora, además de convocar a los invitados a participar en él, como expositores.
Indudablemente la IA es un elemento que irrumpe con toda forma de relacionamiento en la educación superior y el mundo está a la expectativa de lo que pueda pasar con ella. Es necesario que a través de un ejercicio multidisciplinario se desmonte el mito colectivo sobre la IA como como enemiga de los seres humanos, cuando lo que se debe hacer es aprovecharla para el servicio y desarrollo de nuevos conocimientos y prácticas.
A través de congresos académicos como este, se pretende entender la potencialidad que puede ofrecer la IA. Como anécdota se menciona que cuando se inventaron las calculadoras científicas, los profesores de matemáticas salieron a protestar en Estados Unidos, argumentando que les iban a quitar el trabajo y lo que sucedió fue todo lo contrario, se apoyaron en esta nueva tecnología y hoy en cualquier centro educativo utilizan esos dispositivos para ser mucho más eficientes, lo mismo va a ocurrir con la Inteligencia Artificial.
Una de las conclusiones que ha salido a relucir de este Congreso Internacional, es que quienes están en el ejercicio de la docencia, deberán tener nuevas formas de acceder al conocimiento y de relacionarse de una manera diferente con los estudiantes. Ahora el reto es vencer el analfabetismo digital. La IA garantiza el derecho universal a la educación, ya que ofrece recursos educativos abiertos y disponibles para todos.

This worldwide academic conference features various Latin American university speakers and platforms for conversation on Artificial Intelligence (AI), a subject that is crucial in both the academic and business worlds today. The Doctorate in Education and Social Studies students are in responsible of organizing people to attend the event as exhibitors and disseminating knowledge through an original topic.
Undoubtedly, AI is a component of higher education that is brimming with all kinds of interactions, and the world is waiting to see what may happen with it. The widespread misconception that AI is the adversary of humans must be dispelled through a multidisciplinary exercise; instead, it should be used to advance new fields of study and professional practices.
The goal of academic conferences like this one is to comprehend the potential that AI has to offer. Anecdotally, it is said that when scientific calculators were invented, math teachers in the United States protested, claiming that they would lose their jobs. However, it turned out that they relied on the new technology, and today, in any educational setting, they use these devices to be much more effective. This is what will happen with artificial intelligence.
One of the takeaways from this international congress is the need for teachers to have new methods for getting information and for new ways of interacting with students. The current difficulty is overcoming digital illiteracy. Overcoming digital illiteracy is now the challenge. By making educational resources free and accessible to everybody, AI upholds the fundamental right to education.
