El rector del Tecnológico de Antioquia, Leonardo García Botero, instaló la XVII Semana del Derecho y la Criminalística “S.O.S. Violencias”, que se lleva a cabo en las instalaciones del TdeA, con la participación de ponentes de España, México, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Perú y Colombia.
El evento académico es un hito de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses y uno de los más esperados en el medio por su trascendencia y por el reconocimiento que tiene en los ámbitos nacional e internacional sobre el análisis de violencias. Al respecto, dijo el rector del TdeA: “la academia ha tenido históricamente un papel preponderante como gestora de paz. Salvaguarda la memoria histórica de naciones, comunidades y personas sometidas a las más atroces acciones de violencia. En ocasiones, incluso, los claustros educativos han sido refugios y hogares de paso para víctimas del conflicto, desplazados, migrantes y desterrados. Pero, sobre todo esto, nuestro papel como centro de estudios superiores es entender estas violencias, estudiarlas, investigarlas, escudriñar en cada rincón para lograr comprender sus orígenes y causas con la firme intención de aportar a su prevención y erradicación”.
El directivo afirmó que, con la versión 17 de la Semana Internacional del Derecho y la Criminalística, el TdeA se compromete a dejar un mensaje contundente en contra de todos los tipos de violencia. Y la mejor manera de hacerlo es mostrando al mundo, desde los distintos campos disciplinares, la capacidad de los investigadores, docentes, estudiantes y egresados, que aportan sus esfuerzos académicos y científicos al desarrollo de herramientas técnicas, planteamientos y discusiones que destruyen los supuestos establecidos en los escenarios de violencia y dan paso a nuevas y mejores alternativas para construir paz.
Al término de sus palabras de instalación, el rector, García Botero, compartió la siguiente reflexión: “frente a la guerra, debe imponerse la paz; frente a la irracionalidad, la inteligencia y la razón que se produce desde la academia; frente a destrucción, la capacidad creadora de la ciencia; y frente a la violencia, la justicia”.
La XVII Semana Internacional del Derecho y la Criminalística “S.O.S. Violencias”, cuyas actividades académicas y eventos se extenderán hasta el 13 de octubre, hace parte de la agenda de los procesos misionales del TdeA, articulados al Plan de Desarrollo Ser, Hacer y Trascender. Se constituye en una ocasión propicia para generar espacios de intercambio del pensamiento, actualización, conocimiento desde diferentes enfoques; en esta oportunidad, para analizar factores y situaciones de diversas violencias que permitan seguir construyendo y contribuyendo al desarrollo de la paz en el país.
El acto de instalación se llevó a cabo el 11 de octubre, en el Auditorio Gilberto Echeverri Mejía y fue presidido por el rector del TdeA, Leonardo García Botero; la secretaria general, Jael Johanna Gaviria Gallego; la decana de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses, Luz Elena Mira Olano, y el docente, Max Yuri Gil Ramírez; con la presencia de directivos, docentes, estudiantes y egresados del centro de estudios superiores.

XVII International Week of Law and Criminalistics at TdeA: "A strong message against all types of violence"
The president of Tecnológico de Antioquia, Leonardo García Botero, opened the XVII Week of Law and Criminalistics "S.O.S. Violencias," which takes at TdeA’s campus, with the participation of speakers from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru and Colombia.
The academic event is a milestone of the School of Law and Forensic Sciences and one of the most anticipated in the industry for its transcendence and for the recognition it has at the national and international levels, on the analysis of violence. In this regard, TdeA president expressed: "the academy has historically had a preponderant role as a peace manager. It safeguards the historical memory of nations, communities and individuals subjected to the most heinous acts of violence. Sometimes, even, educational institutions have been shelters and homes of passage for victims of the conflict, displaced, migrants and exiles. But, above all, our role as a center of higher studies is to understand these violence, to study them, to investigate them, to scrutinize in every corner to understand their origins and causes with the firm intention of contributing to their prevention and eradication."
The president said that, with the 17th version of the International Week of Law and Criminalistics, the TdeA is committed to leaving a strong message against all types of violence. And the best way to do this is to show the world, from the different disciplinary fields, the capacity of researchers, teachers, students, and graduates, who contribute their academic and scientific efforts to the development of technical tools, approaches and discussions that destroy the assumptions established in the scenarios of violence and give way to new and better alternatives to build peace.
At the end of his words of installation, the president, García Botero, shared the following reflection: "in the face of war, peace must be imposed; in the face of irrationality, intelligence and reason that is produced from the academy; in the face of destruction, the creative capacity of science; and in the face of violence, justice."
The XVII International Week of Law and Criminalistics "S.O.S. Violencias," whose academic activities and events will run until October 13, is part of the agenda of the missionary processes of the TdeA, articulated to the Development Plan “Ser, Hacer y Trascendicender (Bein, Doing and Trascending)” It constitutes a propitious occasion to generate spaces for the exchange of thought, update knowledge from different approaches; on this occasion, to analyze factors and situations of various forms of violence that allow us to continue building and contributing to the development of peace in the country.
The opening ceremony was held on October 11, at the Gilberto Echeverri Mejía Auditorium and was chaired by the president of TdeA, Leonardo García Botero; the General Secretary, Jael Johanna Gaviria Gallego; the dean of the School of Law and Forensic Sciences, Luz Elena Mira Olano, and the professor, Max Yuri Gil Ramírez; with the presence of directors, teachers, students and graduates from the center of higher studies.
