El lunes 2 de agosto inicia un nuevo período académico en el Tecnológico de Antioquia, lleno de retos, metas, posibilidades y sueños, con una metodología que incluye la mediación TIC y la implementación de un modelo híbrido, flexible, que a partir del seguimiento y resultados del mismo permitirá regresar gradualmente a la presencialidad. Así lo dio a conocer el rector del TdeA, Leonardo García Botero, en el desarrollo del proceso de inducción y reinducción para los estudiantes y docentes.
“Es importante acompañar a nuestra comunidad institucional: estudiantes nuevos y antiguos, docentes y personal administrativo, con la satisfacción de concluir el primer semestre de 2021, a pesar de la coyuntura generada por el Covid-19. Pudimos llegar a feliz término y proyectamos este nuevo período con las expectativas de éxito en la gestión”, expresó el directivo.
Anunció que el Consejo Académico revisó varios modelos de algunas instituciones públicas y privadas que habían ejecutado la alternancia y, haciendo un seguimiento y revisando los éxitos y dificultades de los procesos, tomó la decisión de continuar con la flexibilización y revisar la posibilidad de la alternancia híbrida. “La idea es seguir con los procesos de mediación TIC y, en las tres primeras semanas de clases, hacer una caracterización de nuestra población docente y estudiantil, así como de pertinencia, porque queremos desarrollar un proceso colaborativo que se ajuste a las condiciones de nuestra comunidad. Además, se revisó la capacidad técnica y tecnológica para implementar el modelo híbrido, dotamos algunas aulas con las tecnologías que necesitábamos para arrancar con el mismo y, del resultado y la evaluación, se van a tomar decisiones con la idea de ir gradualmente regresando a la presencialidad”, agregó el rector, García Botero.
En la jornada de inducción se hizo un reconocimiento a los profesores por el compromiso, la responsabilidad, la ética, la capacidad de adaptación, la entrega que han tenido durante la pandemia y porque, prácticamente, se han echado al hombro todo este proceso que ha permitido al Tecnológico de Antioquia seguir desarrollando su actividad formativa. Valoración que se hizo extensiva a los estudiantes por la paciencia y la adaptación a las condiciones personales y familiares que se han presentado. Al respecto, destacó el directivo: “Todos estamos trabajando por el mismo objetivo que es sacar adelante sus proyectos de vida y el de la Institución Universitaria. Asimismo, emito un mensaje de solidaridad y apoyo para todos los integrantes de la comunidad universitaria que han perdido familiares y amigos por la pandemia, y para quienes tienen una situación compleja de salud para que puedan superar tan difíciles momentos”.
Se refirió, también, a la gran noticia que representa la matrícula cero para casi el 98% de la población estudiantil: “Es un gran avance para la educación superior, una oportunidad que se debe capitalizar. Nuestros estudiantes de estratos 1, 2 y 3 van a tener la ventaja de esta gratuidad anunciada por el Gobierno Nacional. Los estudiantes nuevos, los que llegan con esta estratificación, tienen la posibilidad de acceso a la educación superior y nos da esto una positiva oportunidad, una gran lección, porque fue un logro que construyeron ellos mismos con sus familias para llegar a este histórico beneficio. Como rector de una institución de educación superior, se le llena a uno el corazón de alegría con esta clase de noticias y seguir creciendo como comunidad, sociedad y país”.
El proceso de inducción finalizará este 30 de julio con el evento general de cierre con los estudiantes y sus padres. Dicho proceso tiene como fin propiciar la integración a la vida universitaria. Es su primer contacto con la Institución que los formará como profesionales recibirán información sobre la estructura académica y administrativa de la Institución Universitaria para adelantar de manera exitosa sus estudios de educación superior.

“TdeA starts a new semester full of dreams and challenges:” Leonardo García Botero, President
On Monday, August 2, a new academic term begins at the Tecnológico de Antioquia. This will be semester full of challenges, goals, possibilities and dreams. Its methodology includes ICT mediation and the implementation of a hybrid, flexible model, based on follow-up and results allowing to return gradually to the face-to-face activities. This was announced by the TdeA’s President, Leonardo García Botero, in the development of the onboarding process and re-onboarding for students and teachers.
“It is important to support our institutional community: new and old students, teachers and administrative staff, with the satisfaction of concluding the first semester of 2021, despite the events generated by Covid-19.
We were able to reach a happy conclusion and we projected this new period with expectations of success in management,” said García. He announced that the Academic Council reviewed several models of some public and private institutions that had implemented alternation services and, following up and reviewing the successes and challenges of the processes, made the decision to continue the flexibility and review the possibility of hybrid alternation. “The idea is to continue with the ICT mediation processes and, in the first three weeks of classes, to make a characterization of our teaching and student population, as well as of relevance, because we want to develop a collaborative process that is in supporting the conditions of our community. In addition, the technical and technological capacity to implement the hybrid model was reviewed. We provided some classrooms with the technologies we needed to start with it, and, from the result and the evaluation, decisions will be made with the idea of gradually returning to presentiality," added the president, García Botero.
On the onboarding day, teachers were recognized for their commitment, responsibility, ethics, adaptive capacity, delivery they had during the pandemic and because, essentially the whole process that has allowed the Tecnológico de Antioquia to continue developing activities has been put to their shoulderles. Kind word that extended to students for their patience and adaptation to current personal and family conditions. In this regard, the manager stressed: “We are all working for the same objective that is to advance their life projects and that of the University Institution.
I also send out a message of solidarity and support for all members of the university community who have lost family and friends due to the pandemic, and for those who have a complex health situation, so that they can overcome such difficult times.”
He also referred to the great news that zero enrollment represents for nearly 98% of the student population: “It is a breakthrough for higher education, an opportunity that must be capitalized.
Our students from economic leves 1, 2 and 3 (low and middle income) will have the advantage of this free tuition fee announced by the National Government. New students, those who arrive with this economic levels, have the possibility of accessing higher education and this gives us a positive opportunity, a great lesson, because it was an achievement they built themselves with their families to reach this historic benefit. As president of a higher education institution, one is filled with joy with this kind of news and continues to grow as a community, society and country.”
The onboarding process will end on July 30 with the general closing event with students and their parents. The aim of this process is to promote integration into university life. It is your first contact with the institution that will train you as professionals will receive information about the academic and administrative structure of the University Institution to successfully advance your higher education studies.
