Por su gestión de sostenibilidad ambiental y buenas prácticas en el campus universitario, Corantioquia exaltó al Tecnológico de Antioquia con el Sello Ecouniversidades, Categoría AA, en acto que se llevó a cabo el 6 de diciembre en la sede de dicha corporación, el cual contó con la presencia de rectores y representantes de 26 instituciones de educación superior del departamento.
El Sello Ecouniversidades que otorga Corantioquia, es una plataforma que ha permitido que las universidades locales demuestren y den a conocer todos los esfuerzos que realizan por la sostenibilidad ambiental, social y económica, asimismo las apuestas que realizan para cumplir con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible – ODS.
Dicho Sello, consta de tres categorías: A, AA, y AAA, y contempla dentro de las dimensiones para evaluar por parte de un jurado, la económica, que está directamente relacionada con el desempeño financiero. Asimismo, lo social forma parte de los criterios de valor, así como el ambiental, cultural, político, académico y físico. El jurado tiene en cuenta si las universidades participantes tienen un plan educativo ambiental universitario o si los estudiantes realizan tesis de grado en temas de educación ambiental y otros aspectos fundamentales para obtener el Sello, el cual se firmó por primera vez en 2021 con 25 IES y el Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje -SENA. El TdeA, logró la Categoría AA, con un puntaje de 88,99, frente a 87.42 obtenido en el 2021.
“Un gran reconocimiento”: director de Planeación del TdeA
El reconocimiento al Tecnológico de Antioquia por parte de Corantioquia, por las buenas prácticas ambientales que la institución ha incorporado en su ADN organizacional y de sostenibilidad desde las funciones administrativas y académicas, fue recibido por el director de Planeación de la Institución Universitaria, Jonathan Bean Mosquera.
“Es un gran reconocimiento que se nos hace a la Institución, un premio que ya habíamos obtenido el año pasado y se da por todos los avances que de la parte ambiental hemos logrado, por dejar un espacio acorde para los estudiantes, donde hoy hacemos el tratamiento a todo el material vegetal en el campus, aparte que contamos con Facultad de Ingeniería y tenemos el programa Agroambiental. Pero vamos un poco más allá, hacemos un esfuerzo adicional para que toda la parte académica, y administrativa se involucre en este ejercicio, que estamos fortaleciendo también con paneles solares y desarrollando un gran proyecto, el Green Mall, donde se va a trabajar la parte de compostaje para que los estudiantes hagan sus prácticas, lo que nos permite con los 38.400 metros cuadrados que tiene la sede, que gran parte es zona verde, impulsamos un Tecnológico de Antioquia sostenible y de desarrollo sustentable”, destacó el director de Planeación.

A su vez, la Directora General de Corantioquia, Ana Ligia Mora Martínez, manifestó que: “Con la entrega del Sello queremos exaltar a las universidades que permiten que la creatividad haga parte de soluciones fundamentadas en el cuidado de la naturaleza y con este reconocimiento enviamos un mensaje de coherencia a toda la comunidad académica, y es que desde Corantioquia reconocemos y damos el valor a quienes promueven las acciones en favor de nuestra casa común”.
Agregó que: “Hoy, estamos muy reconocidos con ustedes, agradecidos por aceptar esta invitación. Tenemos a los rectores, rectoras, delegados de las instituciones, al equipo de la Corporación, a medios de comunicación, diciéndoles que se pueden hacer las cosas bien, que todos los días tenemos la capacidad de mejorar. En junio del 2021, ustedes nos dieron el sí, queremos trabajar con Corantioquia y vamos a firmar ese pacto por la sostenibilidad; pero más de un documento, de lo simbólico que es, es entregarle ese mensaje al departamento pues hemos visto que, en más de un año y medio prácticamente, hemos generado resultados. Este Sello, es la representación, la materialización para decirle a la comunidad educativa, a Antioquia y Colombia incluso pues es el único ejercicio que se ha hecho en este sentido, que también somos un referente. En Antioquia estamos enseñados a abrir caminos. Y esta comunidad académica, está haciendo todo lo necesario para ser coherente con el discurso y también con la acción”.
La doctora Mora Martínez, destacó también que: “Tenemos que llegar a que el cien por ciento de las instituciones de educación superior sean esas ecouniversidades, todos esos centros sostenibles de educación y formación. Firmamos convenios por más de 36 mil millones de pesos con diferentes instituciones de educación superior, con ustedes. Somo equipo, somos amigos, somos familia y venimos todos los días entregando ese mensaje de corresponsabilidad. Y cada uno de nosotros, en el rol como instituciones, pero también como ciudadanos, tenemos esa gran oportunidad y esa gran responsabilidad de entregar un mensaje de la capacidad que tenemos de alianza, de trabajo incansable, de cooperación, de amor por el territorio. Estamos satisfechos con este ejercicio, motivados para seguir caminando por esa ruta de la sostenibilidad”.
Sello Naranja, otra distinción para el TdeA
Cabe recordar que, en noviembre pasado y también por segundo año consecutivo, el Tecnológico de Antioquia recibió de Empresas Varias de Medellín, el reconocimiento Sello Naranja, por su compromiso en el manejo de los residuos sólidos, el cuidado del medio ambiente y su contribución para hacer de Medellín una ciudad más limpia y sostenible.
Se trata de una iniciativa que nació en diciembre de 2020 a partir de la Ruta Recicla, por la necesidad de incentivar a los establecimientos comerciales, empresas e instituciones para el correcto manejo de los residuos sólidos, la separación en las fuentes y el aprovechamiento de los mismos y, en general, por trabajar en pro de una eco-ciudad.
De acuerdo con el rector del Tecnológico de Antioquia: “Todas estas medidas que viene adoptando la Institución, deben servir de ejemplo y modelo a toda la comunidad institucional, pero más allá, a las empresas, organizaciones, instituciones nacionales y, por supuesto, a la ciudadanía para que lleven a cabo acciones hacia un mundo cada vez más sostenible, en armonía con el medio ambiente y los efectos negativos de la actividad humana sobre el ambiente deben transitar hacia la construcción de sociedades más sostenibles”.
Qué es Corantioquia
La Corporación Autónoma Regional del Centro de Antioquia -CORANTIOQUIA, es un organismo gubernamental cuya gestión se orienta a la ejecución de las políticas, planes, programas y proyectos para lograr una óptima administración del medio ambiente y los recursos naturales renovables, conforme con las regulaciones, pautas y directrices expedidas por el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente.

For Good Environmental Practices Corantioquia Exalts TdeA
For its management of environmental sustainability and good practices on the university campus, Corantioquia exalted the Tecnológico de Antioquia with the “Sello Ecouniversities” Seal, Category AA, in an act that took place on December 6 at the headquarters of said corporation, which was attended by presidents and representatives of 26 institutions of higher education of the department.
The Ecouniversities Seal granted by Corantioquia, is a platform that has allowed local universities to demonstrate and publicize all the efforts they make for environmental, social and economic sustainability, as well as the bets they make to comply with the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs.
This Seal consists of three categories: A, AA, and AAA, and contemplates within the dimensions to evaluate by a jury, the economic, which is directly related to financial performance. Likewise, the social is part of the criteria of value, as well as the environmental, cultural, political, academic and physical. The jury takes into account whether the participating universities have a university environmental educational plan or if the students carry out degree theses on environmental education issues and other fundamental aspects to obtain the Seal, which was signed for the first time in 2021 with 25 University Institutions and the National Learning Service -SENA. The TdeA, achieved Category AA, with a score of 88.99, compared to 87.42 obtained in 2021.

The recognition to the Tecnológico de Antioquia by Corantioquia, for the good environmental practices that the institution has incorporated into its organizational and sustainability DNA from the administrative and academic functions, was received by the Director of Planning of the University Institution, Jonathan Bean Mosquera.
"It is a great recognition that is made to the Institution, an award that we had already obtained last year and is given for all the advances that we have achieved in the environmental areas, for leaving a suitable space for students, where today we treat all plant material on campus, apart from the fact that we have the School of Engineering and we have the Agro-environmental program. But we go a little further, we make an additional effort so that all the academic and administrative part is involved in this exercise, which we are also strengthening with solar panels and developing a great project, the Green Mall, where the composting part will be transformed so that students can do their practices, which allows us with the 38,400 square meters that the headquarters has, that a large part is green area, we promote a sustainable Technological of Antioquia and sustainable development," said the Director of Planning.

In turn, the General Director of Corantioquia, Ana Ligia Mora Martínez, said that: "With the delivery of the Seal we want to exalt the universities that allow creativity to be part of solutions based on the care of nature and with this recognition we send a message of coherence to the entire academic community, and that is that from Corantioquia we recognize and give value to those who promote actions in favor of our common home. "
He added: "Today, we are very grateful to you, grateful for accepting this invitation. We have the madam and Mr. presidents, delegates of the institutions, the team of the Corporation, the media, telling them that things can be done well, that every day we have the ability to improve. In June 2021, you gave us the yes, we want to work with Corantioquia and we are going to sign that pact for sustainability. But more than one document, of how symbolic it is, is to deliver that message to the department because we have seen that, in more than a year and a half practically, we have generated results. This Seal is the representation, the materialization to tell the educational community, Antioquia and Colombia even because it is the only exercise that has been done in this sense, that we are also a reference. In Antioquia we are taught to open paths. And this academic community is doing everything necessary to be consistent with the discourse and also with the action."
Mrs. Mora Martínez also stressed that: "We have to reach one hundred percent of higher education institutions are those ecouniversities, all those sustainable centers of education and training. We signed agreements for more than 36 billion pesos with different institutions of higher education, with you. We are a team, we are friends, we are family and we come every day delivering that message of co-responsibility. And each one of us, in the role as institutions, but also as citizens, has that great opportunity and that great responsibility to deliver a message of the capacity we have for alliance, tireless work, cooperation, love for the territory. We are satisfied with this exercise, motivated to continue walking along that path of sustainability."
“Sello Naranja,” - Orange Seal, another distinction for the TdeA
It should be remembered that, last November and also for the second consecutive year, the Tecnológico de Antioquia received from Empresas Varias de Medellín, the Orange Seal recognition, for its commitment to solid waste management, care for the environment and its contribution to make Medellín a cleaner and more sustainable city.
It is an initiative that was born in December 2020 from the “Ruta Recicla” Recycles Route, due to the need to encourage commercial establishments, companies and institutions for the correct management of solid waste, separation at sources and the use of them and, in general, for working towards an eco-city.
According to president of the Tecnológico de Antioquia: "All these measures that the Institution has been adopting, should serve as an example and model for the entire institutional community, but beyond, for companies, organizations, national institutions and, of course, citizens to carry out actions towards an increasingly sustainable world, in harmony with the environment and the negative effects of human activity on the environment, they must move towards the construction of more sustainable societies."
