Programas y proyectos de impacto social, articulados con la docencia y la investigación, hacen parte de los logros de la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, que se proyectan con enfoque territorial, destacó la decana, Ángela María Ramírez Betancur.

Educación física, recreación y deportes convenio TdeA- INPEC

En concordancia con el principio de responsabilidad académica y social, el TdeA, Institución Universitaria, mediante convenio con el Instituto Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario -INPEC-, adelanta un piloto de resocialización de Población Privada de la Libertad -PPL- en diferentes planteles carcelarios del departamento.

Por ahora, el programa se implementa en las cárceles y penitenciarías de mediana seguridad de los municipios de Puerto Triunfo, Apartadó y Santo Domingo, en el Magdalena Medio, Urabá y Nordeste antioqueño, respectivamente.

En estos centros carcelarios, la Institución, a través de su Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, ofrece el programa de Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes.

“Nos ha parecido un ejercicio hermoso. Es un proceso real de resocialización a partir de la educación universitaria, una oportunidad que los encamina al mundo laboral cuando salgan del penal. Es una bonita dinámica que también involucra a los guardianes y funcionarios de las penitenciarías”, explicó Ángela María Ramírez Betancur, decana de la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales del TdeA.

Para el segundo semestre de este año, el piloto se extenderá a las cárceles y penitenciarías “La paz”, de Itagüí; “Pedregal”, de Medellín, sección mujeres; y “Bellavista”, de Bello.

“En estos tres centros penitenciarios, además de Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes, estamos considerando ofrecer también Trabajo Social”, detalló la decana.

Educación en los territorios

Al cumplirse el primer año de la estrategia “Territorio TdeA”, los seis programas ofertados por la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales dentro de esta modalidad están entre los más solicitados: Trabajo Social, Licenciatura en Educación Infantil, Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes, Licenciatura en Literatura y Lengua Castellana, Profesional en Gestión de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo y Licenciatura en Educación Rural y Campesina.

Sin embargo, en ese espectro de posibilidades académicas para las comunidades de las regiones de Antioquia y de Colombia, la Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes sobrepasó todas las expectativas.

“Estamos muy contentos con la aceptación que ha tenido este programa. Tenemos un número de estudiantes que supera lo que esperábamos En el ámbito departamental y nacional es una posibilidad para que los entrenadores deportivos se cualifiquen. Para ellos, la Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes se vuelve una oportunidad valiosísima para sus aspiraciones profesionales”, agregó Ramírez Betancur.

La directiva indicó que el otro programa nuevo dentro de esta oferta académica, la Licenciatura en Educación Rural y Campesina, también presenta alta demanda en los territorios antioqueños y del país. Ambas tienen dos cohortes a la fecha lo que las posiciona entre las carreras más apetecidas dentro de la estrategia “Territorio TdeA”.

Referente nacional de Trabajo Social

Las directivas de la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales del TdeA se alistan para recibir en los próximos días la visita de la comisión del Ministerio de Educación Nacional, que tiene a cargo el proceso de acreditación del programa de Trabajo Social, uno de los más solicitados por los aspirantes a la institución.

“Somos referente en el país. En la actualidad tenemos la presidencia del Consejo Nacional de Trabajo Social -CNTS- a cargo del profesor Milton Velásquez Arias, docente de nuestra facultad. Es un órgano donde, además de universidades, hacen presencia tres ministerios: Educación, Salud y Trabajo. Es una instancia clave en la formulación de políticas públicas para la formación de los trabajadores sociales de Colombia”, indicó la decana.

Psicología

En vista de la acogida histórica que ha tenido el programa de Psicología en la institución, el TdeA, por cuenta de su Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, se espera que Psicología haga parte de la oferta que la institución está considerando para la sede Aburrá Sur. Este programa avanza también con significativos aportes a los procesos de investigación, extensión y bienestar integral.

En la actualidad, la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales cuenta con más de 5.300 estudiantes en sus diferentes programas académicos.

School of Education and Social Sciences with a significant territorial impact

Physical education, recreation, and sports agreement TdeA-INPEC
In accordance with the principle of academic and social responsibility, TdeA, a University Institution, in collaboration with the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute -INPEC-, is conducting a pilot resocialization program for the Prison Population -PPL- in various correctional facilities in the department.

For now, the program is being implemented in the medium-security prisons and penitentiaries of the municipalities of Puerto Triunfo, Apartadó, and Santo Domingo, in the Magdalena Medio, Urabá, and Northeast regions, respectively.

In these correctional facilities, the Institution, through its School of Education and Social Sciences, offers the Bachelor's Degree program in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports.
"For us, it has been a beautiful exercise." It is a real process of resocialization through university education, an opportunity that guides them into the labor market when they leave the prison. It's a beautiful dynamic that also involves the guards and officials of the penitentiaries," explained Ángela María Ramírez Betancur, dean of the School of Education and Social Sciences at TdeA

For the second half of this year, the pilot program will be extended to the "La Paz" prisons and penitentiaries in Itagüí; "Pedregal" in Medellín, women's section; and "Bellavista" in Bello.
"In these three penitentiary centers, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports, we are also considering offering Social Work," the dean detailed.

Education in the territories
As the first year of the "Territorio TdeA" strategy comes to a close, the six programs offered by the School of Education and Social Sciences within this modality are among the most requested: Social Work, Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor's in Physical Education, Recreation and Sports, Bachelor's in Literature and Spanish Language, Professional in Occupational Health and Safety Management, and Bachelor's in Rural and Peasant Education.

However, within that spectrum of academic possibilities for the communities of the Antioquia region and Colombia, the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports exceeded all expectations.

"We are very happy with the acceptance this program has received." We have a number of students that exceeds what we expected. In the departmental and national scope, it is an opportunity for sports coaches to qualify. For them, the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports becomes a very valuable opportunity for their professional aspirations," added Ramírez Betancur.

The board indicated that the other new program within this academic offering, the Bachelor's Degree in Rural and Peasant Education, also has high demand in the Antioquian territories and the country. Both have two cohorts to date, which positions them among the most sought-after programs within the "Territorio TdeA" strategy.

National Reference for Social Work
The management of the School of Education and Social Sciences at TdeA is preparing to receive the visit of the National Ministry of Education commission in the coming days, which is in charge of the accreditation process for the Social Work program, one of the most sought after by applicants to the institution.

"We are a reference in the country." Currently, we hold the presidency of the National Council of Social Work -CNTS- under the leadership of Professor Milton Velásquez Arias, a faculty member of our department. It is an entity where, in addition to universities, three ministries are present: Education, Health, and Labor. It is a key body in the formulation of public policies for the training of social workers in Colombia,” the dean indicated.

Psychology
In light of the historic acceptance that the Psychology program has had at the institution, TdeA, through its School of Education and Social Sciences, it is expected that Psychology will be part of the offerings that the institution is considering for the Aburrá Sur campus. This program also makes significant contributions to research, outreach, and comprehensive well-being processes.

Currently, the School of Education and Social Sciences has more than 5,300 students in its various academic programs.
