*Con optimismo se recibió el anuncio de la Asamblea Departamental de crear una comisión para analizar todas las necesidades presupuestales de la Instituciones Universitarias adscritas a la Gobernación de Antioquia y presentarlas al ente seccional.
Se requiere de un esfuerzo mancomunado y del aumento de los aportes de la Administración Seccional, para lograr calidad educativa, extensión en la oferta académica, regionalización y mejora en las condiciones físicas y tecnológicas de las tres instituciones.
Con el fin de socializar las iniciativas para una educación superior de alta calidad, cobertura y pertinencia en Antioquia, los tres rectores de las instituciones universitarias de esta región del país, Jairo Alexander Osorio Saraz del Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, Jasson Alberto de La Rosa Isaza de la IU Digital de Antioquia y Leonardo García Botero del Tecnológico de Antioquia, invitaron a los diputados de la Asamblea para lograr un consenso en torno de mayores aportes económicos de la Gobernación y presentar iniciativas de inversión y académicas que denominaron “Unidos por tus seños”.
Los participantes en esta reunión de trabajo a la que también asistieron integrantes de los Consejos Directivos de las tres instituciones y altos funcionarios de las mismas, coincidieron en afirmar que el factor presupuestal es determinante en la materialización de los planes de desarrollo y los proyectos educativos a corto, mediano y largo plazo.
El rector del Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, manifestó que hoy en día se tiene un déficit superior a los 15 mil millones de pesos, que trata de solventarse con recursos propios, austeridad en el gasto y gestión, pero que no es suficiente para dar tranquilidad absoluta y mejorar los indicadores. Solo para cumplir con los requerimientos del Gobierno Nacional para avanzar en el proceso de acreditación institucional, se requieren unos 16 mil millones de pesos a lo largo de tres años, sin contar con cada uno de los procesos de acreditación de los diferentes programas académicos, puntualizó el directivo.
Por su parte, el rector de la IU Digital de Antioquia dijo que hoy en día su Institución no cuenta con una base presupuestal, lo que los pone a la voluntad del gobernante de turno. Insistió en que el mejor legado que puede dejar la actual administración departamental para la educación superior es ajustar los aportes económicos, revisando la ordenanza que fija la participación del ente seccional en sus finanzas.
Entretanto, el rector del Tecnológico de Antioquia destacó que, para atender las necesidades misionales de estos centros de educación superior, es necesario trabajar unidos para lograr el acompañamiento de la administración departamental en la inyección de nuevos recursos, que permitan hacer inversiones sólidas en infraestructura, investigación, calidad y extensión. Si el requerimiento permanente a estas instituciones universitarias es aumentar la cobertura de sus programas, es necesario apalancar nuevos recursos que permitan cumplir esas metas.
Nuevas reuniones se continuarán realizando con la Asamblea, que, a través de su presidente, el diputado José Luis Noreña Restrepo, reiteró la voluntad absoluta de la duma para ayudar en la solución de las falencias económicas más urgentes que se tienen. Una comisión de esa corporación estudiará con los tres rectores, las alternativas que se le presentarán a la Gobernación para sanear las finanzas de las Instituciones Universitarias públicas de Antioquia.

It requires a joint effort and the increase of the contributions of the Regional Administration, to achieve educational quality, extension in the academic offer, regionalization and improvement in the physical and technological conditions of the three institutions.
In order to socialize the initiatives for a higher education of high quality, coverage and relevance in Antioquia, the three presidents of the university institutions of this region of Colombia, Jairo Alexander Osorio Saraz of the Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, Jasson Alberto de La Rosa Isaza of the IU Digital de Antioquia and Leonardo García Botero of the Tecnológico de Antioquia, invited the deputies of the Assembly to achieve a consensus on greater economic contributions from the Government and present investment and academic initiatives that they called "United for your dreams."
The participants in this meeting, which was also attended by members of the Boards of Directors of the three institutions and senior officials, agreed that the budgetary factor is decisive in the materialization of development plans and educational projects in the short, medium and long term.
The president of the Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, said that today there is a deficit of more than COP15,000 million, which is being solved with own resources, austerity in spending and management, but that it is not enough to give absolute tranquility and improve the indicators. Just to comply with the requirements of the National Government to advance in the institutional accreditation process, close to COP16,000 million are required over three years, without counting on each of the accreditation processes of the different academic programs, said the president.
For his part, the president of the Digital University of Antioquia, IU, said that today his Institution does not have a budgetary base, which puts them at the will of the current leader in office. He insisted that the best legacy that the current departmental administration can leave for higher education is to adjust the economic contributions, reviewing the ordinance that establishes the participation of the sectional entity in its finances.
Meanwhile, the president of the Tecnológico de Antioquia stressed that, to meet the missionary needs of these higher education centers, it is necessary to work together to achieve the accompaniment of the departmental administration in the injection of new resources, which will allow solid investments in infrastructure, research, quality and extension. If the permanent requirement of these university institutions is to increase the coverage of their programs, it is necessary to leverage new resources to meet these goals.
New meetings will continue to be held with the Assembly, which, through its president, Assembly Member José Luis Noreña Restrepo, reiterated the absolute will of the Duma to help in the solution of the most urgent economic shortcomings that exist. A commission of that corporation will study with the three rectors, the alternatives that will be presented to the Government to clean up the finances of the public University Institutions of Antioquia.
