Para el rector del Tecnológico de Antioquia, Lorenzo Portocarrero Sierra, apoyar a quienes más lo necesitan, en tiempos difíciles, tiene un significado especial de responsabilidad social. “La satisfacción de contribuir al bienestar y mejoramiento de la calidad vida, representa momentos de felicidad para la comunidad”, destacó el directivo al ejecutar una nueva entrega de beneficios del Fondo Alimentario del TdeA para 172 estudiantes de menores recursos.
Hasta la fecha se han realizado dos jornadas (en abril y mayo), con 344 mercados suministrados a los estudiantes por parte del Fondo Alimentario TdeA. El apoyo provee víveres de primera necesidad (alimentos y productos de aseo) y, con el mismo, se ha podido llevar un poco de tranquilidad a los hogares de alumnos que pasan mayores dificultades durante el tiempo de confinamiento social obligatorio.
“Una de las razones de la misión institucional deriva en el trabajo solidario, especialmente en momentos de tanta incertidumbre. La educación superior y el compromiso social, son los pilares en los que se soporta la misión de Tecnológico de Antioquia”, enfatizó Portocarrero Sierra, al valorar las ayudas otorgadas del Fondo Alimentario, aprobado por el Consejo Directivo, con los objetivos de complementar la dieta alimenticia de estudiantes, aportar al bienestar y las políticas de retención y permanencia.
El programa cuenta con el apoyo logístico de las direcciones de Bienestar y Administrativa y Financiera, con los equipos de trabajo de las áreas de beneficios y la coordinación de Gestión de Adquisiciones. Inicialmente, se establecieron cinco días para la entrega de mercados en las instalaciones del TdeA, en los que se tomaron todas las medidas establecidas por los organismos gubernamentales con respecto a los protocolos de seguridad, entre ellas, la movilidad acorde con el pico y cédula.
“El suministro de los beneficios conlleva momentos de alegría para los integrantes de nuestra familia TdeA, quienes han expresado el sentimiento de gratitud y reconocimiento, a la vez, construyen sus proyectos de vida por medio de la educación superior”, resaltó el rector, Lorenzo Portocarrero Sierra.
Así mismo, desde el componente académico, la Institución Universitaria desarrolla el semestre mediante estrategias flexibles apoyadas con las TIC, a la par se brindan servicios de acompañamiento social, entre ellos el Fondo Alimentario TdeA, que se constituye en un aliciente para los estudiantes con el fin de avanzar en esta época tan inusual y de muchas dificultades.

TdeA Food Fund Benefits Students with Greater Needs
For Tecnológico de Antioquia’s president, Lorenzo Portocarrero Sierra, supporting those who need it most, in difficult times, has a special meaning of social responsibility. “The satisfaction of contributing to the well-being and improvement of quality of life represents moments of happiness for the community,” stressed the leader while executing a new TdeA Food Fund benefit delivery for 172 low-income students.
To date, two delivery dates have been held (in April and May), with 344 food provisions delivered to students by the TdeA Food Fund. This support provides necessities (food and toiletries) and, with it, has been able to bring a little peace of mind to the homes of students who are having greater difficulties during the time of mandatory social confinement.
"One of the reasons for the institutional mission stems from solidarity work, especially in times of such uncertainty. Higher education and social commitment are the pillars in which the mission of Tecnológico de Antioquia is supported," emphasized Portocarrero Sierra, in assessing the grants delivered by the Food Fund, approved by the Directive Council, with the objectives of supplementing the food diet of students, contributing to the well-being and policies of retention and permanence.
The program has the logistical support of the Welfare and Administrative and Financial Directorates, joined by the teams of student welfare and Procurement Management coordination. Initially, five days were established for the delivery of food benefits inside TdeA campus. During these activities, measures were established by government agencies regarding security protocols, including peak and certificate mobility.
"The provision of these benefits brings moments of joy to the members of our TdeA family, who have expressed the feeling of gratitude and recognition, at the same time, helps on building their life projects through higher education," stressed the president, Lorenzo Portocarrero Sierra.
The University Institution develops the semester through flexible strategies supported by ICT methodologies. Social support services are also provided, among them the TdeA Food Fund, which is an incentive for students in order to advance in this unusual and difficult time.
